TISCO will provide Engineering and O&M services for two power plants
Filipino companies Emerging Power, Inc. (EPI) and Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC) has awarded Tamoin Industrial Services Corporation (TISCO) with contracts related to the construction of a 40 MW Geothermal power plant in Mindoro, South of Manila and a Diesel power plant in Surigao, Mindanao. TISCO belongs to the Tamoin group of Bilbao, Spain.
TISCO will provide Engineering as well as O&M services for EPI during the construction of the Mindoro Geothermal plan. The consortium of European companies TSK/Turboden will handle the construction of the Geothermal plant.
The Mindoro Geothermal power project has a renewable energy service contract with the Philippine Department of Energy and should be commissioned by the first quarter of 2017. Once the plant starts running, it will supply energy to more than 250,000 houses in the whole island. Apart of receiving a continuous supply, families in the area will benefit a 40% reduction on their electricity bills.
TISCO was also entrusted by NAC to handle the construction as well as O&M of a 10 MW Diesel power plant in Surigao. The project provides the solution to Mindanao’s current power shortage problem.
TISCO is the result of a joint venture between Tamoin group, which has more than 60 years of experience in industrial engineering services, including oil & gas, power generation, wind power and aeronautical services, and GAAD Inc., a Filipino company specializing in complex power projects on gas, geothermal, oil, coal, renewable energies as well as transmission lines around Asia.
